Sentence for the knive

The Economist this week runs a series of article reassessing the use of macroeconomics. In one of them, it says financial economics might be blamed for the recent crisis. That is akin to blaming a knive for a murder downtown.

aco, i think your analogy is not apt. a better analogy would be blaming the knife for cutting the cook's hand. then we have an open engineering challenge: how to design a better and more effective cutting tool -- that is safer for the cook.
